The filterability test is carried out on clear products with a low load of contaminants.
It consists of filtering the liquid that is to be tested, under standard conditions, via a 25 mm diameter, 0.65 micron membrane, and ascertaining the times the filtered product takes to reach volumes of 200, 400, 600 ml (T1, T2, T3 ).
Processing the 3 different times provides the result of the analyses; the filtering indexes:
IF, IFM, Vmax.
The ACRAM tool for analysing the filterability index can be provided with a complete manual setup, or with software and digital precision scales for automating both the evaluation and the data-processing.
The ACRAM system can be used in the oenological, food and beverage sectors, whenever it is necessary to determine the filterability index of a product.
Testing is extremely easy and fast.
The filtered product is collected in a graduated cylinder and the scales send the weight to the PC.
After reaching 600 ml the test concludes by processing the filterability indices (IF, IFM, Vmax).
Inserting the name of the wine (or product), sample, specific weight and any notes into the appropriate field thus completes compilation of the record sheet, which can then be printed and saved.
Thanks to its compact nature and ease of use, the ACRAM filterability-analysis tool can be placed anywhere and used by unskilled personnel.
