The diffusion integrity test is a non-destructive analysis that analyses the state of the membranes to detect any breakages (of both the membranes and gaskets).
The test consists of gradually increasing pressure upstream of the membrane to the required test pressure (declared by the supplier of the filtering element), and the subsequent measurement of the output gas flow over a predetermined time interval.
The observed value is then compared with the specifications stated by the membrane manufacturer: any deviation beyond a certain range is indicative of non-integrity.
